Standards for Continued Study
STANDARDS FOR CONTINUED STUDY
Graduate degree programs expect all students to strive toward -and attain- academic excellence. Grades and progress will be evaluated at the end of every semester/block/term once final grades are posted. A graduate student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average to maintain satisfactory academic progress.
Students who fall below a cumulative GPA of 3.0 will be placed on academic probation for one semester. If the student fails to improve their GPA to a 3.0 or higher after one semester, the student will be academically suspended and removed from the program. If a student earns a final grade of “F” in a course required for the degree, they will be removed from the program. Receipt of more than 2 “C+”, “C”, or “C-“ grades will result in removal from the program.
A student removed for academic reasons (suspension, “F” grade, and/or more than 2 “C+”, “C”, or “C-“ grades) may apply for readmission after one calendar year has elapsed. Requests for reinstatement are rigorously reviewed, and approval is not guaranteed.
